Big news for Michigan Wolverines fans: Another key player is heading for the transfer portal.
On Thursday evening, the team announced that Ty Haywood, a true freshman offensive lineman, is seeking opportunities elsewhere. This move adds another layer of complexity to the Wolverines' offseason roster adjustments.
Haywood, a highly-touted four-star recruit, was a standout member of the 2025 recruiting class. He came to Ann Arbor with high expectations, hoping to make an immediate impact on the offensive line. However, after a season of development that saw him play only 15 snaps across three games, he's decided to explore his options.
This marks the fourth offensive lineman to enter the transfer portal this offseason for Michigan. He joins Kaden Strayhorn, Connor Jones, and Ben Roebuck. Interestingly, Jake Guarnera and Andrew Sprague also initially entered the portal but later withdrew their names.
Haywood will have four years of eligibility remaining at his next school. We wish him the best in his future endeavors.
